Cedar Lodge has recently discharged a resident who was engaging in a rehabilitation programme with the team which resulted in a successful outcome and discharge into the community. The resident had a delayed discharge due to the lack of supported living provision in the area and because the services in the local area had concerns about the resident’s history.
The team at Cedar Lodge worked tirelessly with the resident so that they could demonstrate to the other service providers that the resident was ready to live independently. They showed that the resident had successfully completed their psychology sessions and that they could manage their potential triggers and stressors and were safe to go back into the community.
Another service provider came to assess this resident and Cedar Lodge supported the resident and explained that their discharge was long overdue. This is yet another success story for the team at Cedar Lodge and although it was not an easy process, the team persisted, and the resident is now back in the community!
